I had a little leakage at the thrift store when I came across this label. OMG I just couldn't believe my eyes and the funny thing is that this shirt / jacket was actually in the women's section of the thrift store, so it pays to look everywhere. This is a label I've lusted after for decades because the designer behind the label, Rei Kawakubo, is the ultimate artist in my opinion. Comme des Garcons (French for "like boys") has grown to become 1 of Japan's biggest fashion designers. Started in 1969 by Kei Kawakubo in Tokyo and debut in Paris in 1981. Comme des Garcons was a popular line that often took on the notion of color & sex-appeal in clothing, as had Issey Miyake & Yohji Yamamoto during the same time period. I will wear this shirt / jacket until the day I drop and then I'll be cremated in it! When you stop by Doubletake in Atlanta you'll see a lot of fabulous STYLISH clothes but you won't see this on the racks! Please friend me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter too….toodles for now. Be STYLISH go green. Daniel your luxury curator!
